| So, after a couple of months we finally finished the master bathroom! We've been using it for a couple of weeks now but I'm still working on decor and accessories. If you have any suggestions, fee free to throw them my way! We've only done a little bit to the basement but on Monday will start cutting into the cement foundation. I'll try to remember pictures. Easter
For Easter this year, we celebrated at home. (We weren't able to go to the Jenks family party on Friday night because we went to the baptism of one of Seila's friends. It was a great baptism and we were so happy to be able to support her in her decision.)
Saturday was spent at Seila's softball games. They were home games so we packed our lunch and headed over. They lost both games but Seila played 2nd base and did a great job. We were very proud of her. After the ball games, Justin and I left a to-do list for the kids and we headed into Moses Lake for more supplies. We didn't like the paint color we had purchased. Well, we liked the color, just not the shade. I wanted it to be darker but not as dark as the next color on the color card. Anyway, we had to go figure that out and a few other things. When we got home, we discovered that the kids had done a great job of completing the list!
Sunday morning we hid eggs and baskets. Then we worked on dinner prep and headed off to church. After dinner we sat down with the kids and read from the Bible about the last week of the Savior's life. It was a great day of meetings and a great Easter Sunday. To top it off, the weather was beautiful too!
Today when I got home from the school, Justin and I started painting the new color on. We weren't sure if we liked it at first but after it dried, we decided that it is just perfect! I had a few piano lessons this afternoon and after dinner we had family home evening. Then Justin and I layed the flooring in the bathroom. We had one little mistake but we are confident that we can cover it. I think it looks great and now we are ready for tile in the shower and the bathtub install! Yipee! The end is in sight, for this bathroom anyway. Then we'll have to begin the downstairs bathroom. Don't ask what the color is, it doesn't have a name. We made it up. That's called custom, right?

Well, I haven't posted anything in a while so that must mean one thing: we are busy!! Every week I think about posting things that happened but never seem to get the time to sit down and actually do it.
The bathroom is coming along slowly, but coming. I can't believe how well Justin has learned how to do everything. He already had a pretty good idea but needed some expert advice. Brandon is a wealth of information and so willing to share with us. Our friend Keith has offered morsels of info also. There is really nothing to take a picture of. The last couple of weeks have just been mudding and sanding, a few hours here and a few hours there. Tomorrow night the walls will get texture and then paint (hopefully by Saturday). Next comes tile in the shower and then the flooring. Install the tub, toilet, and cabinets and then we're done. Okay, trim somewhere down the road. Sounds simple huh? I'm hoping for 2 more weeks. What a dreamer!
For spring break Seila stayed home with Justin because she had softball and the rest of the kids and I drove to Sparks to visit my parents for a few days. I was sick while we were there but Mom picked up the slack. Seila really wanted to make a quilt to donate to charity for the recent Japan earthquake so we made one for her and took it to Salt Lake to the Humaitarian Center. After a few days in Sparks, Mom and I with the kids jumped on the Amtrak and rode it to Salt Lake. That was a new experience for the kids and I. We enjoyed ourselves and created a few memories. I don't think that I'd want to travel by train all the time because of the weird scheduling and the length of time the trip takes but it sure was nice not to have to worry about potty breaks or staying awake while driving.
In Salt Lake, we had a baby shower for my sister-in-law Heidi. I was glad so many of the cousins were able to make it. It was fun to see them all! We were glad to be able to go to my sister's kids soccer games. We listened to General Conference on my iPhone in the car on the way home.
Conference was so awesome! I always learn so much and feel so inspired to be a better person. Sunday night I even watched some of them again. I have gained much strength in the last couple of weeks by listening again and reading the talks. What a true blessing it is to have a living prophet and apostles on the earth today!
I'm still subbing at the Elementary school in the mornings every day. The novelty has worn off some so in the mornings it is hard to get myself out the door. Once I'm there I enjoy it (mostly). I am also running out of patience. Today I totally blew up at one of the 5th grade classes. They just don't have any respect for others. They talk whenever they feel like it and don't pay attention. We spend so much time waiting for everyone to get on task! Today several of them felt like arguing with me about everything, trying to convince me that their suggestions were better than what I was telling them. I lost it. I haven't yelled at a class yet but I did today. There were still kids that thought they should talk amongst themselves so they ended up with their heads down on their desks. Maybe its me. I just don't think I should spend all my time disciplining. Ugh! Even when I was young, I knew I wasn't cut out to be a teacher. 8 weeks left of school! I better listen to some Conference talks again. Need more strength. . . .

Update:
The electrician was at our house on Saturday. He and Justin worked for 7 hours on our tiny little 12' x 9' bathroom! They pulled old wires and ran new ones to the new bathroom upstairs. Next Saturday he'll come back and run wires downstairs to the new bathroom and then hook them up to the electricity and we'll have light! Justin is trading him for some fishing. The plumber is scheduled to come on Friday and hopefully he'll be able to get the old out and the new in or whatever he is going to do. Of course, when those things are finished, we'll be ready to get going on the stuff we can do ourselves! I am scheduled to pick out the cabinets tomorrow and they should be ready in a couple of weeks. Justin has started patching the sheet rock on the ceiling.

Bathroom remodel has begun!
We did it! We gutted the bathroom! This is the one from the hallway. We're not going to rip into the master bath yet. In a couple of days. I'll add pics as we go along.

Justin and I got home last night from a trip to San Diego with friends. We had a great time. The weather was not as warm as we were hoping for but warm enough for a little sunburn after riding bikes for 4 hours.Some highlights were:
Mon: Wahoo Taco's for lunch. Walk down the beach to World Famous for dinner (about 1 mile).
Tues: 10:00 session at the San Diego temple (so incredibly beautiful!). Lunch at Old Town Mexican. Mormon Battalion museum in old town. Bit of shopping. Kimberly and Dan met us at our beach house for steak dinner and playing on the beach.
Wed: DisneyLand. Cheesecake Factory for dinner.
Thurs: Rent bicycles. Breakfast at Konos. Ride bikes until about 1. Hang out at beach house then shopping. Early dinner at PF Changs. National Comedy Theater. Bogart Yogurt for dessert.
Fri: Pack up and check out. IHOP for breakfast. Movie "Unknown". Airport.
Snoqualmie pass was slow going on our way Monday morning but even slower to come home Friday night. When we finally got home, we discovered that we picked up someone else's bag. Now trying to figure out how to return it to them.
While we were gone, Kai had his MS wrestling end-of-season party and received the MVP award! Seila went to the HS sports banquet on Monday night with her sub parents, Greg and Erin Pike. She also had New Beginnings for mutual on Wednesday, also with substitute parents.
The kids had so much fun here with Erin. One of the many highlights was pancake day. She also took them swimming at Grandma Kay's house and hot tubbing at Allred's. They really had a vacation of their own right here with Erin and Greg.
This morning is Zoe Noftle's baptism at 10. Then Justin is going to take the kids to Basin City to see the goats this afternoon. I'll stay home, I think, and try to get the laundry done and work on Heidi's baby quilt. I might take Seila to Moses Lake. She needs a few things and I left the curling iron in San Diego so, I need a new one.

New Year
So, I finally changed the video at the beginning of our blog. It's about the new year and not looking back. I'd love to know what eveyone thinks about it. So, leave your comments!
I've been terrible at bloggin lately but I'm really going to try to keep up again. Of course, I can't remember all that I wanted to blog about. So now I am only able to blog what I do remember which really isn't very much. I always say that and then I go on and on about everything.
Santa left a letter on Christmas Eve that said he thinks it's time for the kids to learn to ski. So, he helped us find a weekend to take the kids for ski lessons. Kai is going to learn to snowboard and the others will learn to ski. We are going to hopefully borrow some equipment. If you wouldn't mind lending some to us, we'll take good care of it, I promise! Rentals are $30/day per person. Ouch!
Seila started drivers ed classes in the evenings. She turned 15 in December so she was eligible for the class that started a couple of weeks ago. I absolutely can't believe it! We took her in to get her learner's permit and forgot to take the birth certificate with us. So, we had to go back a different day. Justin took her a few days later and forgot to take the application that states she is in the class. So, he had to go find the office for the driving school and get a new application. Then she was able to get her permit. She can only drive with the instructor or one of us. I took her out on Friday to run errands here in town with me and I let her drive. She had stayed home from school that day because she was sick. Whe was feeling better by the afternoon so I took her with me. She had never drived a car before. I have to admit I did feel a little panicky once we were actually sitting in the car with her in the driver's seat. To make a long story short, when we arrived back home, I was very glad that we had signed her up for this class and that she will have almost an entire year to practice driving before she is on her own!
Kai had his first 8th grade wrestling tournament on Thursday. He did very well. I'm always nervous until the first match is over. He pinned his opponent in both of his matches. It looks like it might be a great season for him. Only time will tell.
Hadley was in the Red Rock spelling bee on Friday afternoon. She was the first one up to spell and the first one to get out. Her word was plumber and she forgot the b. When I went to give her a hug after it was all over, she started crying. She was so embarrassed to be the first one out. It bothered her all day. She kept talking about it after she got home. She says she got teased a bit too. She seems to have gotten over it though.
Kale's just so funny. At dinner today, we were talking about a boy in his class. I mentioned that I think the boy is a funny kid. Kale said he didn't think so because he is the funny one. Apparently only one of them can be funny, not both. We couldn't help but laugh.
Justin and the boys went clamming on Friday. They went to Friday Harbor. Clamming is something new for us and they wanted to see what it was all about. They only brought home about 20 clams but all of them said it was fun and we should all go. I think we might try to go next month when the kids have a day off of school.
